Daktari Productions takes its name and inspiration from the remarkable life spanning sixty years in Africa of Dr. Sue Hart – the original Daktari.

The word “Daktari” comes from a very old African language, Swahili; it means doctor, in its broadest sense: a “healer”.

Sue was honoured with the name “Daktari” when she was working as a wildlife vet in East Africa during the sixties and early seventies.

Daktari Productions is developing media programming and publishing based on Sue’s life, her experiences and original stories.
